THE GITE

Vue de l'Eglise provides comfortable and spacious family and pet-friendly accommodation in the charming village of Brux in the tranquil Vienne department of Western France. Ideally situated on the corner of the square, within a  stone's throw of the village shop, the gite enjoys a beautiful view of the 12th century Romanesque church of St. Martin.

ACCOMMODATION

The holiday gite sleeps eight people comfortably in three bedrooms (one king, one double and a twin), plus twin beds on a large mezzanine. There are two shower rooms, modern kitchen facilities (including a fridge-freezer, dishwasher and electric range cooker), plus a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.. The spacious living room has a cosy wood-burner and a TV with English and French channels. Free WiFi is also available.

With its flat countryside, fields of yellow sunflowers and picturesque villages,  the Vienne department is ideal to explore by bike or on foot, while the meandering rivers of the Charente, Vienne and Clain are perfect for a lazy paddle by canoe. Bikes can be hired and collected on site if required. 


The holiday gite itself is close to some of the department’s best known tourist attractions, including the Futuroscope theme park and  La Vallée des Singes  (Monkey Valley), while  the beautiful villages of Verteuil sur Charente and Nanteuil en Vallee are just a short drive away.


With easy access to the RN10 and within 35 minutes of the airport and train station at Poitiers, this spacious gite is an ideal holiday base for families, couples or friends.

Our changeover day is normally Saturday, but other days can be arranged on request. Please contact us regarding availability.

How to Book

Please check the availability calendar to see whether your preferred holiday dates are available. 


  1. Once you have selected your dates, you will be taken to an online booking request form. Complete the form and submit it by clicking on the 'Continue' button. We will contact you (usually within 24 hours) to confirm your booking. 
  2. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total gite  rental will be required to secure your reservation. Instructions on how to pay will be provided via email.
  3. Payments can be paid by direct bank transfer (in pounds or Euros) or by PayPal. If PayPal is used, there will be an extra processing fee of 3%. 
  4. The balance of the rental, together with the security deposit (see note 6), is payable no more than eight weeks before the start of the rental period.
  5. A security deposit of £200 is required in case of accidental damage to the holiday gite. This will be returned within 14 days of departure. 

Availability and Booking

Booking Conditions

A full copy of the terms and conditions can be found in the Welcome Pack when you arrive at the  gite.


  1. Bookings will be confirmed on receipt of a completed booking enquiry form and the clearing of the deposit. The deposit is 25% of the total rental and is not refundable. 
  2. The balance of the rental, together with the security deposit (see note 3), is payable no more than eight weeks before the start of the rental period.
  3. Payments can be paid by direct bank transfer (in pounds or Euros) or by PayPal. If PayPal is used, there will be an extra processing fee of 3%.
  4. Refunds for cancellations will only be made if the property is re-let. We recommend that all our guests take out travel insurance.
  5. A security deposit of £200 is required in case of accidental damage to the holiday cottage. This will be returned within 14 days of departure.
  6. We do not add extra fees for cleaning the property and ask you to leave the house clean and tidy, in the same condition as on arrival. Failure to do so may lead to some of the deposit to be withheld.
  7. The maximum number of guests should not exceed eight people, plus a baby in a cot. 
  8. The booking cost is per gite, not per person. Friends or family are welcome to visit and stay, provided they do not exceed the maximum sleeping capacity.
  9. Well behaved dogs (a maximum of two) are welcome by prior arrangement. There is a small fee of £10 per dog to cover the cost of additional cleaning. 
  10. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture or anywhere upstairs.
  11. Smoking is not allowed inside the gite.
  12. Sorry, but this property is not suitable for hen, stag or similar parties.
  13. The lead booker must be over age 25 at the time of booking.
  14. The gite is available from 4pm on the first day and should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. 
  15. A telephone is available for guests’ use with local calls being free-of-charge. The cost of any international calls will be taken out of the security deposit.
